What is a Belgian loafer?

The Belgian is a low-cut slip-on worn without lacing, finished with French binding on the apron. Ours is Blake stitched by hand in Spain onto a single thin leather sole with a small heel, so the silhouette stays close and the shoe stays light. It comes in deerskin, suede, nubuck and black patent, on a leather or a rubber sole. It is built on a slightly narrower last and tends to fit small – we generally recommend half a size up from your usual size in laced shoes.
