It may be true that there are more options for women such as sandals, flats or heels but to us, there is no better shoe model to wear in summer than our unlined loafer. This model is comfortable to wear, still really elegant and easy to combine. Let us dive deeper why this construction is so appreciated by many.

Our unlined loafers are Goodyear welted and crafted without a lining on the inside of the shoe. This makes the them more breathable, more flexible and softer than usual. It’s a sophisticated and extremely comfortable loafer to wear during spring and summer.

Right now, you can find the unlined construction on our Penny Loafer in brown and medium brown suede. But we will certainly add more and more variants and colors to this list.

Advantages of an unlined shoe

An unlined shoe is über soft and feel more comfortable right from the first time you are wearing them as they are not as stiff as a normal Goodyear welted shoe. By many, unlined shoes are preferred for sockless wear. As we’ve removed the lining on the inside, it is airier and provide a great breathability for the warmer days of the year. Our loafers are made from reverse suede to retain their structure and shape better over time ensuring they are made to last.

Good to keep in mind

We know that there are some prejudices when buying unlined shoes. Some might be worried that the shoes lose their shape quicker and that generally the lifespan of an unlined shoe will be shorter than with a standard lining.

Of course, the unlined version uses a slightly different construction compared to our regular lined and reinforced shoes. In our unlined loafers we still use a heel stiffener to remain a great fit. In addition to that, we use a toe stiffener which is superbly soft. The side panels and tongue are constructed without lining.

It’s a sophisticated technique and construction that our craftsmen have refined for many years.

We recommend to use a shoe tree as it is essential for maintaining the shape of your shoes to prolong their lifespan while also reducing creases.
