Konkret bedeutet das, dass die Sohle (Sole), der Oberschuh (Upper) und der Rahmen (Welt), ein rundumlaufendes Lederband, miteinander vernäht werden. So kann man die Sohle nach Abnutzung ganz einfach austauschen, ohne die Oberseite des Schuhs zu beschädigen. Der obere Teil des Schuhs kann dadurch über viele Jahre lang weiter benutzt und getragen werden. Das ist durchaus sehr angenehm, denn der Oberschuh nimmt mit den Jahren eine ideale Form an, die sich an Ihren Fuß angepasst hat an.
