Sizes EU 40-46 (UK 6-12 | US 6.5-12.5) Runs large
Select one size down from what you normally wear in other shoes and MORJAS. If you're normally between sizes, we recommend the smaller full size. If you benchmark your size with athletic shoes (e.g. Nike, Adidas), please select two sizes down.

Sizes EU 36–39 (UK 2-5 | US 2.5-5.5) True to size
Adapted for women and hence made on a slightly narrower fit. These sizes are true to size, and we recommend taking the same size as you normally wear in other shoes. For example, if you usually wear 38, we recommend taking 38 in the espadrille too.

The Espadrille should feel tight in the beginning. It might feel a bit unnatural when trying on, but the espadrille will stretch slightly after a few wears. Hence it should feel tight initially as you otherwise might risk heel slippage after a couple of wears. It's perfectly natural that you'll feel slight pressure and tightness over the toes—again, this will ease after a couple of wears.

Please note: Our sizing recommendations differ between suede and canvas.

Our take on the classic espadrille is crafted on a slightly higher-than-average jute sole. The higher sole together with the suede creates a sharp impression, making this a companion suitable for not only days at the beach, but also for evenings on the plaza.

  • Crafted by hand in Spain
  • Natural jute sole with rubber grip
  • Reinforced heel counter for ideal fit
  • Thin canvas lining
  • Heel patch in suede with embossed MORJAS logo

The Espadrille Light Beige Suede
Fits large in size: Take one size smaller. Based on data, insights and close dialogues with our customers we recommend selecting one size down from what you normally wear. The Espadrille should feel tight in the beginning, it will stretch and get very comfortable after just a few wears.
The espadrille is pre-treated with a protecting spray in the factory. However, treat your shoes with a suede protective spray regularly. Keep 15-20cm distance when spraying. If your suede starts becoming a bit “hairy”, remove the hair with the fire of a lighter. Keep some distance to the shoes so only the “top” of the flame is applied to the shoes to avoid the risk of burning marks. Jute fibres tend to absorb water, which can lead to swelling and a temporary softening of the material. This could affect the shape and strength of the jute sole over time. To prolong the life and beauty of your jute-soled Espadrilles, we recommend avoiding exposure to wet conditions, rain, and puddles. If your shoes do get wet, allow them to air dry naturally. Avoid excessive heat, as it can compromise the fibres' integrity.
