A Slow Process

Quality often requires time. Each pair takes 8 weeks to make and involves over 128 thoughtful steps from first cut to last finish. Over 61 dedicated working stations are passed. The result is a meticulously crafted shoe with superior quality that is well worth the wait.

Goodyear Welted

Considered the most sophisticated method in shoe construction, the Goodyear welt technique is named after Charles Goodyear Jr. who invented the production method. Simply put, a Goodyear welt is a strip of leather that is sewn around the bottom edge of the shoe, attached to both the insole and the upper. The welt can then be easily unstitched, which then detaches the sole without damaging the rest of the shoe – meaning it can be replaced multiple times.

Perfecting Over Time

At MORJAS we believe in doing a few things extremely well rather than doing a lot of things just OK. That is why we offer a permanent collection which we have been perfecting over the course of five years. Care and nurture for your shoes and they will sustainably last for decades.

Cork Filling

Between the outer sole and the inner sole we apply a cork filling. This cork is stiff in the beginning and will naturally mold after your feet. The body temperature will heat up the cork and create a tailored shape after your feet. In addition, the cork is intended to eradicate moist.
